The Mammography Unit

The mobile mammography screening unit has successfully launched in the Western Cape and operates through 3 Community Health Centers associated with a local academic Hospital, providing free mammography services to women in these communities. PinkDrive have also garnered support from local private radiologists, to perform these reading’s. This shows their commitment to working in public-private partnerships. PinkDrive also collaborate with other cancer NGO’s to increase overall reach for cancer education and awareness. This unit also services the private sector in the form of corporate wellness days.
The Mammography Unit Consists of:
- State of the art digital mammography equipment
- Wooden floors; granite tops; air conditioned
- Qualified mammographer and supporting nursing staff
- License held by Private Radiologist
Screening x 30 women per day (over the age of 40 years)
The Educational Unit

The educational unit travels in the Gauteng area to approximately 80 Community clinics as well to corporate organizations in the area. The main aim of the programme is to provide women in various disadvantaged communities to have accessible education, physical examinations and to learn breast self-examination. |
